What is Pilates?
Pilates is a physical fitness system developed by Joseph H. Pilates in the early 20th century. Pilates consists of over 500 exercises that all stretch, strengthen, tone and align the body. Pilates utilizes specialized, spring-based resistance equipment. These machines, such as the Reformer and the Cadillac, may look intimidating at first, but trust me you’ll love it! All sessions focus on the quality, not the quantity of the exercise. But what makes Pilates truly unique is the mind-body connection.
Who can take Pilates?
Anyone, any age. We can tailor the workouts to cater to your specific needs and goals. I have worked with clients post-surgery (back, hip, knee, foot, cosmetic, etc), clients with multiple sclerosis, advanced arthritis, scoliosis and low back pain.
Of course, Pilates is perfect for body sculpting, sports training and general health. I have worked with clients getting ready for big events such as weddings, auditions, reunions and marathons. Give me a deadline, and I’ll have you looking, feeling and performing your best!
